Guest paddling a transparent kayak toward the granite boulders of La Digue

The flagship experience

The Robinson Crusoe Tour

Three guided hours from Anse Source d’Argent to a beach you can only reach from the sea.

The Robinson Crusoe Tour is a three-hour guided transparent-kayak tour operated by Crystal Water Kayaks at Anse Source d’Argent on La Digue, Seychelles. Guests paddle clear-hulled kayaks over a shallow reef, land at the secluded Anse Pierrot, explore coastal caves and viewpoints on foot, and learn to open a coconut using a traditional island method. The tour runs once per day at a start time set by the tide, costs €40 per person, and includes kayak, life jacket, dry bag and a local guide.

How the tide sets the departure time Cross-section of the reef flat. At low water the lagoon is too shallow to paddle without touching coral; at high water there is enough depth. The usable window shifts a little every day. High water — enough depth Low water — too shallow for the reef The usable window
This is why there is one departure a day and why its time moves: the team picks the hours when the water is deep enough to cross the reef flat without touching it.

Questions before you paddle?

Read all questions
How do I book a tour?

Use the booking planner on the tour page. It creates a prefilled WhatsApp request with your date, party size and preferences. Your booking is confirmed once the team replies with availability and the tide-based start time.

When does the tour start?

The start time changes with the tide and may fall in the morning or the afternoon. The team runs one departure per day and confirms the best available time for your date.

Is the tour suitable for a day trip from Mahé or Praslin?

On many dates yes, but not on all of them. Some departures begin before the first ferry arrives or finish after the last one leaves, so confirm the tour time before buying fixed ferry tickets.

Is the tour family friendly?

Families are welcome. The team generally does not recommend the tour for children under three because the sea can become choppy. Ask for date-specific advice when you request your booking.

What happens if the weather changes?

Safety comes first. The team may delay the start, adjust the route or offer another available day. Confirm the current cancellation and refund terms with the team when you book.

What should I bring?

Bring drinking water, reef-conscious sun protection, swimwear, secure water shoes and a camera or phone. Waterproof bags and safety equipment are provided.
